Here's a different photograph, in which the
octopus head is a little more stretched out and its outline is more
visible against the lighter-colored reef surface. Can you see it now?
Again, the round sucker pads on a tentacle are quite easily seen in a line
across the lower half of the photograph. Can you see the eyes? One is
right in the middle of the photograph. It looks like a small orange patch
with a black line across it (octopus eyes and those of other cephalopods,
such as cuttlefish and squid seem strange to us). The other octopus eye is
on the right hand side of the head, and can just be seen as an
orange-colored blotch, since the eye socket is turned almost away from the
camera. Is it still too difficult to see the octopus?
