We have only made 1 trip to Kimbe Bay but on that trip we shot over 100 rolls of film. Kimbe Bay is, like many areas around Papua New Guinea, among the best dive locations in the world. Papua New Guinea is located within the region where the species diversity is acknowledged to be the highest in all the world ocean. The divesites in Kimbe Bay do represent a range of ecosystem types, but the main attraction here is the diving on open ocean reefs, often submerged pinnacles. Big animals, including several species of whales are often seen here (although we were not fortunate enough to see them). Sharks are more common here than in most other locations where we have dived and dolphins, sometimes in schools of many hundreds of individuals are always to be found somewhere in the Bay.
This page is still under construction. Within next several months, there will be more information added. At present, you may view a slide show of just some of our images of fishes , invertebrates and other species photographed at divesites in Kimbe Bay. You may start this slide show by clicking the link below or you may go to our Slide Show Selection Page where you can customize this slide show (especially useful if you are on a slow web connection) and access slide shows from locations other than Kimbe Bay. Please note that images in our slide shows are also included in the Fishes and Invertebrates/Scenes portfolio pages on the reefimages web site.
