We have now made 8 trips to Milne Bay and have shot over 700 rolls of film on dives there. We believe Milne Bay to be one of the best dive locations in the world. It is located within the region where the species diversity is acknowledged to be the highest in all the world ocean. Perhaps more important, the divesites in Milne Bay represent a very wide range of ecosystem types, from clear open-water coral reefs to muddy river mouths. On this page and its associated slide shows, we have attempted to illustrate the very different species assemblages that are found at various dive sites in Milne Bay.
This page is still under construction. Within next several months, there will be more information added, including a brief description of many of the major divesites in Milne Bay together with the general characteristics of the different types of marine organisms that may be encountered at each site. At present, you may view slide shows representing each of 12 of the frequently dived sites in Milne Bay. There are also 2 additional slide shows representing our images of fishes and of invertebrates and other species photographed in Milne Bay at divesites other than these twelve.
You may start these slide shows by clicking the links below or you may go to our Slide Show Selection Page where you can customize the slide shows (especially useful if you are on a slow web connection) and access slide shows from locations other than Milne Bay. Images in these slide shows are also included in our Fishes and Invertebrates/Scenes portfolio pages.
